And at the top of that, a part of the building serves as a very stylish and still affordable hostel. In the building, you can find a co-working space and even rent your own business office. During some weekends, the venue is used for farmer markets or mini-festivals. TabačkaTalks are the discussions on topics such as politics, art, culture, ecology, traveling and many more, and they are also held regularly here. There is also a cinema projecting alternative movies and a room for different art performances, for instance, a new generation of a circus. And when the sun goes down, a bistro turns into a bar, and the venue is filled with electronic music played by the best DJs in the country. During the summer, the outside venue, decorated with graffiti wall, is also opened. The atmosphere is pretty laid back, so it makes you feel like you are in a friend’s house, not in a restaurant. People of Košice always knew this place as Tabačka because, in the 19th century, it used to be a tobacco factory. The plan is to get a lot of nightlife in that building.Īs far as nightlife goes, a few of the Kultfabrik clubs are still open. The big building on the right side of the picture is the WERK3, thats the one that will be finished first. (About where the Q club was, the big, white Q on the picture.) The cherry on the cake is the new concert hall, that will be built here. We will get a lot of new restaurants, clubs, shops and flats for people to live in. The whole area will be converted into a vibrating, living district, not just an office park. But the kicker is what the team behind the Kultfabrik is working on: The "Werksviertel". The Kultfabrik as you know is closed since new years eve.
